My Take of the Week
How To Run Your Business With Only 7 Metrics [EVENT]

We’re hosting a live session that cuts through the noise: The Only 7 Metrics You Need to Run Your Shopify Brand.

These are the same KPIs we use to run our own brand, Neat, and the ones 7-8 figure teams rely on to scale smarter, not harder.

If you’re tired of bloated dashboards and guesswork, this is for you. We’ll show you what to track, how often, and why it matters - no fluff, just clarity.

  • 🕒 What time? - 11:00a PST / 2:00p EST

Special Find: Team Pick

Seasonal Relevance Done Right

Pressed Juicery recently ran a well-timed “Spring Glow” campaign centered around their Vacation Prep Pack - a seasonal bundle designed to help customers feel “photo-ready” with a cleanse + de-bloat duo.

Why it works:

  • Timely positioning: They capitalized on spring break season before it hit, tying wellness to a cultural moment when people care most about looking and feeling their best.
  • Emotional outcome > product specs: Instead of overexplaining ingredients, the copy focused on results like “light, clear, and photo-ready.”
  • Membership model baked into pricing: Their VIP Pricing ($10/mo) smartly rewards repeat buyers while nudging first-timers toward subscription behavior.

Shopify brands take note: Seasonal campaigns don’t need to be flashy—just tightly aligned with your customer’s headspace at the right time.

Curated Growth Tips of the Week
2 Growth Tips to Grow Your Shopify Biz

Featuring growth tips and insights sourced from other publications.

1/ Group Your Product Benefits — But Only If They Make Sense Together

If your product solves multiple problems, be careful how you present those benefits.

New research from four global universities shows that products with multiple related benefits consistently outperform those with a single benefit - or multiple benefits that feel unrelated.

Across four experiments and a large sales dataset, researchers found that perceived coherence between benefits plays a major role in driving conversions:

  • In an analysis of 1,059 healthcare products, those with related benefits drove 42% more sales than single-benefit products. But when the benefits felt disconnected, sales dropped 66% compared to single-benefit offerings.
  • In a cold medicine test, 4.8x more people preferred a version with related benefits over one with just a single benefit.
  • For a maternity care service, listing related services improved perception by 6.2%. Listing unrelated benefits (like gardening or pet care) made the offering 9% less favorable than the single-benefit version.

💡 Why it works:

When people see a cluster of benefits that clearly go together (e.g. a face wash that removes dirt and oil), they assume those benefits reinforce each other. The product feels more focused—and more effective. But if a product claims to solve unrelated problems (e.g. a lotion that both hydrates and helps with tanning and acne), it creates doubt and weakens believability.

🛒 For Shopify Brands:

This insight is especially useful for DTC brands with multi-benefit products (think supplements, skincare, fitness equipment). Here’s what to do:

  • Highlight three benefits that clearly work toward a single goal (e.g. “hydrates, softens, and smooths skin”). Avoid stacking disjointed benefits just to fill space.
  • Use product detail pages, packaging, and ads to tell a coherent story: show how your benefits are interlinked, not random.
  • If you do offer unrelated benefits, isolate and test them individually in different campaigns.

⚠️ Limitations:

This effect applies best to first-time buyers and functional product categories. It’s unclear how it plays out with repeat customers or abstract benefit types like “confidence” or “peace of mind.”

2/ Google Now Allows Top Ads To Appear But Only If They Are Good Enough

Google quietly rolled out a major update to Search ads: now, top-performing ads can show up twice—once at the top and once at the bottom of the same search results page.

Previously, your ad was limited to just one spot. Now, if your ad meets Google’s quality thresholds, you can earn two placements in a single search. Testing showed this change increased relevant ad exposure by 10% and led to a 14% lift in conversions from bottom-of-page placements.

🧠 What it means for brands:

  • More SERP real estate for brands running high-quality Google Ads.
  • Bottom ads aren’t just filler—they can convert, especially for users who scroll before clicking.
  • Google still runs separate auctions for top and bottom spots—so doubling up means your ad has to perform.

🔧 What you should do:

  • Monitor your impression share by position. Use segmentation in Google Ads to break down where your ads are showing (top vs. other) and compare performance.
  • Watch for changes in CTR and Conversion Rate. You may see stronger performance from one position over the other. That can inform whether you want to bid more aggressively, or refine copy and assets to align with what works best.
  • Revisit your Quality Score drivers. With Google prioritizing relevance, improving expected CTR, ad relevance, and landing page experience will help you capture more real estate.
  • Layer in automation, but stay strategic. Smart Bidding might adjust bids automatically to take advantage of new placement opportunities, but make sure you’re reviewing your placement data regularly. Algorithms don’t always know your goals better than you do.
  • Look beyond vanity metrics. Bottom-of-page clicks may cost less, but be sure they’re actually driving value. Focus on leads, sales, or other business outcomes, rather than just volume.

The takeaway? If your ads and landing pages are dialed in, this change gives you another chance to show up and win. It’s quality over quantity—and Google is giving high-performing brands the spotlight.
