My Take of the Week
Missed It? Here’s the 7 Metrics Every Shopify Brand Should Track [EVENT]

📊 Yesterday, we hosted a live session on The Only 7 Metrics You Need to Run Your Shopify Brand - the same KPIs we use to run our e-commerce brand Neat Apparel and the ones 7–8 figure teams rely on to scale smarter, not harder.

If you’re tired of bloated dashboards and decision-making based on gut feel, this was built for you.

We covered what to track, how often, and why it actually matters—no fluff, just clarity.

Special Find: Team Pick

The Smartest Way to Show Value on Your PDP

Quince’s product detail pages (PDPs) offer a masterclass in showing value without slashing prices. Instead of a typical discount, they highlight how much you’re saving compared to buying from premium competitors.

Even better? They back it up with a side-by-side comparison chart—sometimes showing savings as high as 61%. And for those who want full transparency, they go a step further with a breakdown of their product’s pricing structure.

🧠 Why it works:

This isn’t just smart UX - it’s trust-building and conversion-driving. By framing their offer around value instead of price cuts, Quince boosts perceived quality and makes the shopper feel savvy for choosing them.

A great lesson for any Shopify brand trying to defend margins while still converting.

Curated Growth Tips of the Week
2 Growth Tips to Grow Your Shopify Biz

Featuring growth tips and insights sourced from other publications.

1/ ChatGPT x Shopify = A New E-Commerce Channel Is Here

📰 The Big News

Shopify is integrating with ChatGPT to enable native, in-chat product discovery and checkout. This turns ChatGPT into a full-funnel sales channel—from product recommendation to purchase—without ever leaving the conversation.

🤔 What It Means for Shopify Brands

  • Instant Distribution: Your products could be recommended in AI-powered chats with no extra setup, as long as your store is on Shopify and your product data is up to date.
  • Higher Conversions: The frictionless “ask > recommend > buy” flow collapses the shopping funnel, making impulse purchases easier.
  • New Discovery Channel: Small brands now have a shot at being discovered organically by ChatGPT users, especially if your product listings are optimized for conversational queries.
  • No Ads (Yet): OpenAI says these are not paid placements… for now. But everyone expects monetization (ads, affiliates, etc.) to follow soon.

⁉️ Why This Could Be Huge

  • ChatGPT may become the most valuable ad space on the internet—sitting right where product searches start.
  • It threatens both Google’s search dominance (top-of-funnel) and Amazon’s transaction power (bottom-of-funnel).
  • Your competitive edge? Be early. Think of this as SEO for AI. Structure your product titles, descriptions, and reviews like you’re talking to a helpful assistant.

🗒️ What To Do?

Here’s how Shopify brands can prepare and capitalize on this shift right now:

Audit Your Product Listings

  • Use plain, conversational language in titles and descriptions.
  • Make sure every product has accurate specs, clear images, and a concise “who it’s for” angle.

Optimize for Conversational Queries

  • Example: “What’s a good waterproof speaker for the beach?”→ “This speaker is IPX7-rated waterproof, perfect for beach days and poolside lounging.”

Leverage Reviews & Ratings

  • Feature authentic reviews and include common use cases (e.g. “Great for travel” or “Perfect for moms”).
  • The more context-rich your reviews, the more useful they are to AI models.

Get Your Shopify Feed in Order

  • Make sure your product metadata is clean, categorized, and up to date.
  • Include price, availability, ratings, and structured product info where possible.

Monitor Rollouts and Experiment Early

  • Keep an eye out for the launch of the “ChatGPT channel” inside Shopify.
  • When available, treat it as a new performance channel: test, track results, and adjust copy accordingly.

Rethink Your Ad Budget Strategy

  • If/when paid placements roll out, prepare to reallocate a portion of ad budget to target AI-driven recommendation spots—especially for hero SKUs or evergreen offers.

2/ How One Button Change Made Amazon $300M

📝 Intro

It’s hard to believe one word could block hundreds of millions in revenue. But that’s exactly what was happening on Amazon’s checkout page. A single button — “Register” — was causing confusion, frustration, and cart abandonment at scale.

Until they changed it to just one word: “Continue.”

That tiny UX tweak went on to generate $300 million in extra revenue within a year.

📈 Key Takeaway

The clearer and less demanding your checkout feels, the more likely shoppers are to complete their purchase. In Amazon’s case, removing friction by replacing “Register” with “Continue” helped both new and returning customers feel like buying was simple — not a commitment.

🧠 Why it Works

  • New users didn’t want to “register” — that felt like a relationship. They just wanted to buy.
  • Returning users forgot their login details and had created multiple accounts, leading to frustration and drop-offs.
  • The “Register” button added pressure and introduced unnecessary friction.
  • “You do not need to create an account to make purchases…” - users felt safe proceeding.

This small copy update resulted in:

  • A 45% increase in completed purchases
  • An additional $15M in revenue in the first month
  • $300M in total revenue growth over the year

📗 What You Can Learn From This

Use this as a friction audit for your checkout experience:

  • Where are you unintentionally slowing down your customers?
    • Review your checkout flow for any extra steps, decisions, or fields that don’t directly support conversion.
  • Are you demanding too much commitment, too soon?
    • Let shoppers buy first, register later. Avoid gating checkout behind account creation.
  • Could your button labels or form copy feel pushy or confusing?
    • Swap high-commitment language like “Register” with softer alternatives like “Continue” or “Proceed to Checkout."
  • Are you reinforcing trust and clarity at key points?
    • Use reassuring microcopy to reduce anxiety (e.g. “You can track your order without creating an account”)
  • Have you tested the impact of small copy or layout changes?
    • Even subtle shifts in wording or form design can significantly improve your conversion rate. Don’t overlook the power of micro-optimizations.

TOOL OF THE WEEK:
Turn Your Product Pages Into Video Ads Using AI

Creatify.ai uses AI to generate high-converting video ads from your product URL. Just paste the link, and the tool automatically pulls product info, writes the script, generates a voiceover, and turns it into a ready-to-use ad.

It’s designed to simplify content production, especially for DTC and eCommerce brands needing video assets at scale.

Why we like it:

Shopify brands often struggle to keep up with the demand for fresh, platform-specific ad creatives. Creatify.ai helps fill that gap with fast, on-brand videos you can run on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube – no video team required.
